What this is

Urbex Atlas is a map of places recorded as abandoned in public open data. It is a reference, not an invitation. Nothing here is a statement that a place is safe, unowned, or legal to enter.

Safety and the law

Entering an abandoned structure is trespassing in most jurisdictions, and derelict buildings routinely kill people. Floors give way, roofs collapse, shafts are unguarded, basements flood, and asbestos is common in anything industrial built before the 1990s.

You are responsible for your own decisions. Find out who owns a site and get permission before entering it. If you are not certain a place is safe and you are allowed to be there, do not go in.

Do not use this map to plan trespass, theft, vandalism, or entry to any site that is occupied, guarded, or in active use.

What we ask of you

Take photographs. Take nothing else.
Break nothing, force nothing, and mark nothing.
Leave every place exactly as you found it, doors and gates included.
Report locations that are demolished, dangerous, occupied, or that should not be published.

Accuracy

The data is imported from open records and none of it has been verified on the ground. Entries may be inaccurate, out of date, or refer to buildings that no longer exist. Positions can be wrong by tens of metres or more. Treat every entry as a lead to check, not a fact to rely on.

Licences

The imported layer derives from OpenStreetMap and is offered under the Open Database Licence. Full source and attribution details are on the about page, and honouring them is a condition of reuse.

This map is provided as-is, with no warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for any purpose, and no liability is accepted for anything that happens as a result of using it.
