Derelict cottages
Building · Ireland

The most poignant features of Fínis are the derelict cottages, the remains of a busy coastal community. The 1841 census records a population of 66. To see the fine grass of the empty fields when so much of the county is a useless bog is salutory (although part of the island is still grazed today).
