View of the lighthouse at Beachy Head with the cliffs taken from a pleasure boat in 1971. There have been a number of cliff falls since this image was taken and the lighthouse is no longer so near to the cliffs. It is said that as early as 1670 a light shone to guide passing vessels from the top
